This looks cool, I'll have to check out out. Thanks for sharing!

At one TSA gate they told me "all electronics out of your bag, yes, it's the same as it's been every day"

..."yeah but at the OTHER airport they told me take NOTHING out of your bag."

I get that they have to repeat it every day and people still don't comply, but even the compliant people might not remember the rules of a particular airport. It's got to be a frustrating job.

I see the point but I do want to remind the infrequent fliers that you can bring nail clippers on planes now, and you've been able to for a long time.

Family occasionally visits and asks if they can borrow clippers when they arrive and im like "sure, but you can just bring your own." Like what, are you going to hijack a plane with toe nail clippers!?

For those unititiated, this anime movie includes a woman who is literally toxic to sleep with. Her body poisons any of her partner and they die shortly after.

This is confirmed with a scene where someone sleeps with her against her will. It is very not appropriate for a 12 year old.

TBH, I haven't played online yet. But I get tagged with the matchrequest ping once or twice a day.

Well what about antiestablishmentarianism then?

Antiestablishmentarianism.

Metriod Prime: Hunters.

It was the best FPS, arguably the only FPS, on the Nintendo DS. Nintendo has long since shut down their online service for the DS. However, if you go into your WiFi settings you can change your DNS to point to a server that spoofs Nintendo's credentials.

Thanks to this exploit you can play all the original DS games online with a legitimate game, on a legitimate console. There's even a discord for MP:H with a matchmaking channel, clans, and regular tournaments. (The same probably goes for Mario Kart DS)

Haha, yeah.

... Wait did you just lie on the internet??

I've got a BTD 600 usb bluetooth adapter and I'm trying to connect Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones. Same manufacturer.

When I plug the BTD 600 usb adapter into a windows machine it works as expected:

  • The LEDs start off white, indicating "calls" mode. (The device is transmitting a low-latency high-compression signal. The quality is terrible, but there's very little lag)

  • As soon as I play music or youtube video or some form of audio, the LEDs on the usb adapter change to purple, indicating "aptX" mode. Audio is clear and there is little latency. The adapter remains in call mode indefinitely (or until I make a call of some sort, which I haven't tested)

I've even tested this out successfully with a steam deck. It works fine, so I know it can work on linux. However, on my Pop_OS! cinnamon desktop I have issues. Upon plugging the BTD 600 usb adapter into Pop cinnamon:

  • The LEDs start off white, and remain white no matter what audio is playing. The device is stuck in "calls" mode; audio quality is terrible (though there is very little lag).

I did some research and found terms like "pulseaudio" and "pipewire" and realized those seem tied to the desktop environment. So, I logged out of Pop_OS! cinnamon and logged in to Pop_OS! Pop (its default desktop environment). Lo and behold, the BTD 600 could "see" audio was being played and switched from "call" mode to "aptX" mode.

My guess is that something about the cinnamon desktop environment isn't telling the audio controller that audio is playing, but something in the Pop desktop environment (and the windows and steam deck desktop environments) is.

Does anyone know what tells the audio controller audio is playing, or what would "trigger" a usb device into thinking audio is playing?

(For what it's worth, the adapter seems to handle the bluetooth connection to the headphones independently from the operating system. Bluetooth settings does not see the device. I also purchased an Avantree C81 bluetooth adapter which seems to function in a similar fashion, however its LED does not change color depending on codec used. I'm including it here as the fix for the BTD 600 should be the same fix for the Avantree C81.)

My least favorite is Digimon world 4. It felt like a non-digimon game that they crammed digimon in.

I wish they had digivolving as more of a core mechanic; you only digivolved once in that game and when you did you needed to basically restart the game from level 1. I also wish the game/combat wasn't so grindy. Sitting in one spot mashing the attack button was the best strategy most of the time and... just wasn't fun.

Back in the day I used to really like browsing soundcloud, listening to mashups, indie artists, and whatnot. Eventually soundcloud got too big and took down a lot of content (probably due to copyright) and introduced paid "pro" accounts. Is there a place like the early soundcloud on the fediverse?
