For my generation it’s close to universal
I grew up in a time before cell phones, I had a lot more freedom than your kids will ever experience. Crime rates were much higher back then by the way. I still survived even though my parents rarely knew where I was between 4 and 6 pm, but I was always home in time for dinner.

I am already paying for 2 services to watch all regular season games of my favorite team, this adds up to about 60 EUR per month. To be able to also watch my teams Champions League games I would have to additionally buy the bigges cable package with all kinds of channels I would never watch for around 100 EUR.
