Yeah, it's less of a rumor/leak and more of an open question that Nintendo has yet to address. Either way, the bigger screen will be fantastic

There are some discussions online about whether or not the Switch 2 will support switch 1 games in their docked profile but in handheld mode. For example, Metroid Prime runs on 1080p60 docked and 720p60 in handheld on Switch 1. On Switch 2, people are wondering if in handheld Metroid Prime could run in 1080p60 or it will be limited to 720p60.

Nintendo has not confirmed this one way or another yet. It may even be the case that in handheld the S2 would upscale the 720p image to 1080p instead of running it in 1080p native. We will have to wait and see how it all works

Just started Metroid Prime. I was tempted to wait and see if you can play it in its docked mode while handheld with switch 2, but alas I saw it for $30 and had to grab it.

PS and Xbox, then PC, then Switch 2, then PS6 and XboxNext, then PC2, then Switch 3. Seems about right

This actually looks pretty fun!

I don't see this flopping. I don't think it'll be more successful than Switch 1, but every kid who loved switch 1 is now 8 years older. I think sales are going to be huge. I don't disagree about prices of games being a concerning precedent, but honestly with silver, gold, deluxe editions and every game having battle passes we are already in a market with games costing more than $60-70. And most of those are incomplete garbage. At least with Nintendo you can expect a quality product for the most part (pokemon not included).

He's probably looking forward to open world hangouts with friends. I'm looking forward to that also.

It's pretty good. Spongy enemies now have breakable armor which makes them make more sense. The first game also had technical limitations the devs admitted that made it so they could only have a certain number of enemies on screen at a time. This meant that to increase difficulty they had to make enemies spongier. This is not the case in this game. I haven't had to backtrack much so far but I'm early game.

I picked up Division 2 on sale recently and began playing it with a buddy of mine. He had never played the first one while I had. We're loving it. It really does feel like a proper 2.0 update instead of Division 1.5. I was convinced to buy it after seeing it on sale and watching SkillUps review. Having loved the first one despite my gripes about late game enemy sponginess, having to remove attachments before disassembly, and enemy variety, it was great to learn that all of these things have been addressed.

Message for everyone: This isn't ever a PlayStation game only thread even though we are in the PS community. It's just a place for people to chat about whatever games they are playing, on whatever platform they are playing them on. As a mod I often see people post about playing on steam deck or Xbox or Switch only for them to delete the post later as they realize they are in the PS community. No need to do that here! Just vibe out and have a great time!
