it deviated from its planned route at Isola del Giglio, Tuscany in order to perform a sail-by salute

That part seems contentious, it's never been made clear in any source I could find that the statement is true. Previously they had done so, and with approval, this time there is nothing to back it up. There was supposition that he was trying to wow his girlfriend.

In the end he hit a rock that the Illyrians were aware of, and had turned off the 'bro, there's a big fucking rock in front of you' computer warning.

If you don't need to have an account you can try using Stealth on Android. It scrapes content (available in settings) . i use it with Orbot and don't have any issues, though others have reported problems.

I only use it for search re-directs though. It does let you 'subscribe' to subs, but since you don't have an account you cannot post, comment, or vote.

It isn't much used, but cardamom is actually really good with peach. And cinnamon of course.

This part probably didn't impress her too much

“But do you realize it is dark and here we can’t see anything…” he said. (According to news reports Wednesday, Schettino is now explaining that he abandoned the ship because he “slipped” into a lifeboat)

Sorry, can't find a better source.

There was also a quote from schettino where he's (finally) realized what's going on. He's talking to de Falco, and asks to speak to his mother. de Falco shouts at him something like "oh, you need your mommy now?".

the cleric blamed mass media for fostering so much “sympathy for anti-Christian lifestyles choices” that “when people hear the Christian message it often inevitably seems ideological and emotionally cruel

Imagine being at that revelation, then saying to yourself 'no, my interpretation of skydaddy is correct'

Probably something DOGE should look into. Clear government waste. My boss would be pissed if I repeatedly pushed $60M into the sea.

No need for oops, this isn't my profession, but I'm interested. I see it in Local.

I'm always happy to learn more from professionals in their field.

The most common alternative theory suggested that the name originated when Portuguese or Spanish explorers, having explored the northern part of the continent and unable to find gold and silver, wrote cá nada ('nothing here' in Portuguese), acá nada, aqui nada or el cabo de nada ('Cape Nothing' in Spanish) on that part of their maps.

I always thought it was Spanish for "place with moose"

This is a long and interesting read, from its domestication, through the Triangle Trade, to Sugar Beet extraction, to sugar substitutes

Edit: this was one of those Wikipedia holes, I don't remember where I started, I saw Alfred Russell Wallace (personal hero) mentioned somewhere and ended up here

For me I get an intense and nice smell/ flavor of citrus. I can't pinpoint it, maybe Mandarin. I do not get any kind of numbing / electric feel from it. I have made identical dishes where the only variable is Sichuan Pepper and the result is the same, for me. Some others have a very different experience. I really like the smell and flavor, but I have frankly fucked a few people over when I put in in various dishes or homemade Shichimi .

How do you experience this taste/sensation? And are you a Supertaster?
