Could be one of those people that never learned to read clocks. Worked with a girl fresh out of high school and had to teach her so she would stop asking me what time it was constantly.
What does he need the battery for then?
Maybe he has a digital wall clock at home. Though it would be weird he came to a clock shop when those digital clocks usually just need AA batteries he could've found at other common stores.
Oh ok, yes could be he could only read digital clocks I guess. But a great story to be overly obsessive about details about, never the less :)
